About

Ortega Aviation Services (OAS) provides comprehensive FAA Part 141 flight training, knowledge testing, and consulting from its location at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (KICT). Under the guidance of Chief Pilot Kirby Ortega — who brings more than 30,000 flight hours in everything from Cessna 150s to Citation jets — OAS delivers highly individualized training that benefits from an instructor whose experience spans the full spectrum of general and business aviation. The school specializes in instrument rating training with a structured 24-hour ground school course, multi-engine instruction in the Diamond DA42 (typically 10 hours to MEL rating), and a commercial pilot program that integrates multi-engine and simulator labs with a preloaded tablet full of course materials. Operating at KICT gives OAS students immediate exposure to controlled airspace, precision instrument approaches, and complex airspace procedures that are essential preparation for professional aviation careers. Teresa Ortega manages school operations, and together the team has built a reputation in the Wichita aviation community for thoroughness, professionalism, and results-oriented instruction.
