Textron Aviation Employees Flying Club
About
The Textron Aviation Employees' Flying Club (TAEFC) carries a proud aviation heritage stretching back to the earliest days of Wichita's storied aircraft manufacturing industry. Formed in 2014 through the merger of the Cessna Flying Club — established July 3, 1946 — and the Beechcraft Flying Club, founded July 11, 1941, the TAEFC represents over 80 years of employee-driven general aviation in the Air Capital of the World. Operating as an FAA Part 141 certificated pilot school, the club serves hundreds of Textron Aviation employees who benefit from economical access to aircraft, organized flight instruction from zero to CFII level, and a collegial community of fellow aviation professionals. Located at Wichita's airport complex, members and students have the unique advantage of training in the very community where Beechcraft and Cessna aircraft are designed and manufactured, surrounded by some of the most aviation-knowledgeable people in the industry. The club uses Cessna 172s as its primary trainers and offers single-engine ATP training as well. Approximate cost to earn a private pilot certificate through the club is roughly $8,300, making professional-quality instruction accessible to the rank-and-file Textron workforce.
