Alaska Flight Academy

About

Alaska Flight Academy is a modern flight training operation based in Wasilla, Alaska, in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley north of Anchorage. The academy operates under FAA Part 141, providing a structured and efficient curriculum for students pursuing their first certificate or advancing through the professional pilot pipeline from Private Pilot through Instrument, Commercial, and CFI.

The school's fleet features contemporary technology-forward aircraft: the 2024 Sling 2 NGT (N431AK), a South African-designed tandem trainer powered by the Rotax 912iS and equipped with a full Garmin suite including G3X, GTN 650, G5 backup, and Garmin autopilot — a true technically advanced aircraft (TAA) suitable for every certificate level. The school also operates an Enstrom F-28C helicopter (N212AK), enabling helicopter ratings as an add-on for fixed-wing pilots or as a standalone path.

Alaska Flight Academy emphasizes modern avionics proficiency and prepares students for today's glass-cockpit aircraft. Its Wasilla location provides access to a diverse range of Alaskan flying environments, giving students real-world experience beyond the pattern before they complete their certificates.
