About

Sanders Flight Training Center's Tuscaloosa campus operates at Tuscaloosa National Airport (KTCL) at 7504 Robert Cardinal Airport Road, serving as one of three Alabama training sites in the Sanders Aviation network alongside the flagship Jasper location and a Huntsville campus. Founded by veteran aviator Joseph "Gordo" Sanders Jr. in 1996, the organization has built a reputation for accelerated, career-focused Part 141 training delivered seven days a week.

The Tuscaloosa location provides the same curriculum and standards as the Jasper headquarters: structured FAA Part 141 programs from Private Pilot through Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and ATP, including a Military Competency to ATP pathway for veteran pilots. Students in Tuscaloosa have access to modern, scenario-based simulator training to supplement aircraft time, building both technical competence and crew resource management skills. As a satellite of the Sanders network, students also benefit from access to the 30+ aircraft fleet distributed across all three campuses.

The Tuscaloosa campus is ideally positioned at KTCL, which also hosts Epic Flight Academy, providing students with a busy training environment and exposure to a full-service airport operation. The combined facilities and seven-day scheduling ensure students face minimal delays on their path to professional certification.
