About

Navy Annapolis Flight Center (NAFC) operates its Fort Meade satellite campus at Tipton Airport (KFME), extending the school's 1975-founded Part 141 certified flight training program to serve the military and civilian aviation communities in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. The Fort Meade location is particularly well-positioned to serve active duty military personnel and veterans at Fort George G. Meade — home of the National Security Agency and one of the most populous military installations in the country — who want to pursue pilot certificates during or after their service. Like the flagship Lee Airport campus, this location offers personalized instruction from a team of aviation-degreed CFIs, retired military aviators, and active airline pilots. NAFC's 90% checkride pass rate and VA benefit approvals apply equally at the Fort Meade campus, and the location serves as one of the primary training sites for Capitol Technology University's BS in Aviation Professional Pilot degree program. Tipton Airport's busy general aviation environment and proximity to Class B airspace provides excellent training conditions for the full spectrum of pilot certificates and ratings.
