JA Flight Training operates on the campus of JA Air Center at Chicago's Aurora Airport (KARR) in Sugar Grove, Illinois, with a mission to offer the newest, most technically advanced fleet in the Chicago area. The school's seven aircraft include Diamond DA20, DA40, and DA42 platforms, as well as Cessna 172s—all equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit avionics that mirror the instrumentation found in modern turbine aircraft.
The school's accelerated commercial pilot program is designed to take motivated students from zero hours to commercial certification efficiently, and upon completion, JA Flight Training offers a guaranteed training slot as a co-pilot with Southern Airways Express—one of the more direct airline partnership pathways among Chicago-area flight schools. This career connection gives commercial program graduates a clear, structured path from flight school graduation to regional airline employment.
JA Flight Training is one of the fastest-growing flight schools in the greater Chicago metropolitan area, with more than 25 employees and a robust staff of certified flight instructors. The school offers training from Private Pilot through ATP and all instructor ratings, and operates alongside JA Air Center's full-service FBO, which provides maintenance, fuel, and ramp services. Students training at KARR gain excellent exposure to the airspace environment west of Chicago, including cross-country routes to the Rockford area and through the broader Illinois aviation corridor.
