Florida State College at Jacksonville - Aviation
About
Florida State College at Jacksonville's Professional Pilot Technology program partners with Sunrise Aviation to deliver Part 141 flight training at Cecil Airport (KVQQ), a former military airfield that provides students with access to a long runway and low-traffic environment ideal for flight training. The two-year Associate of Science degree integrates ground school academics on the FSCJ campus with practical flight hours at Cecil, guiding students from their first solo to Commercial Single- and Multi-Engine certificates with Instrument Ratings. The FAA's R-ATP recognition of FSCJ's program allows graduates to qualify for an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with only 1,250 flight hours instead of the standard 1,500, giving community-college students a competitive advantage when entering the airline job market.
