About

Region Flyers was founded in 2013 to bring affordable, high-quality FAA Part 141 flight training to Northwest Indiana and the south Chicago suburbs. With two campus locations—the main school at Porter County Regional Airport (KVPZ) in Valparaiso, Indiana, and a satellite location at Lansing Airport (KIGQ) in Lansing, Illinois—Region Flyers serves a large geographic market spanning the Indiana Dunes region and south Chicagoland.

The school's philosophy centers on accessibility and value, emphasizing cost-effectiveness alongside quality instruction and maintaining some of the lowest aircraft rental rates in the region. Training is conducted in a fleet of Cessna and Piper aircraft alongside a DCX Max ProMotion flight simulator, which students use for instrument procedures and systems study before applying their skills in actual flight. Region Flyers offers lessons 24/7 by appointment, providing flexibility that many larger institutions cannot match.

In addition to standard pilot training, Region Flyers offers scenic aerial tours of the Northwest Indiana Dunes and the Chicago skyline, giving students and visitors a unique perspective on one of the most visually distinctive shorelines in the Midwest. The school's Part 141 structure ensures FAA oversight and an approved syllabus, and its community-oriented approach has built a dedicated following among student pilots throughout the Chicago-Gary region.
