About

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is one of the Baltimore region's primary pathways to a professional aviation career, offering six aviation-focused Associate of Applied Science degree programs and a Professional Pilot certificate through its Aviation Technology program. All CCBC commercial pilot training is conducted under FAA Part 141 and all ground school courses are Part 141 approved, ensuring students benefit from the efficiency of structured, approved curricula. The college works with a range of flight training affiliate partners, giving students flexibility in where they complete their actual flight hours while maintaining CCBC's academic oversight and degree requirements. Students pursuing fixed-wing ratings from private pilot through CFII can expect total flight training costs in the range of $70,000-$80,000 over the program, with rotor-wing programs running comparably. CCBC's position in the Baltimore-Washington metro area gives students access to one of the nation's densest concentrations of aerospace employers, military aviation installations, and commercial airline operations — building a career network from day one of their training. Base tuition of approximately $12,000 per year makes CCBC one of the most cost-effective routes to an aviation degree in the Maryland-Virginia-DC region.
