SWEET AVIATION, LLC
About
Sweet Aviation has established itself as one of the most comprehensive flight training and aviation services organizations in the Midwest, operating from Smith Field Airport (KSMD) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The school holds dual FAA certification under Part 141 (flight school) and Part 135 (air carrier), and is an authorized Cirrus Aircraft Training and Service Center—reflecting its deep expertise in Cirrus SR20 and SR22 operations.
The fleet at Sweet Aviation is exceptional in its breadth and quality, spanning Cirrus SR20s and SR22s, Diamond DA20s, DA40s, and DA42 twins, Cessna 172s, aerobatic Super Decathlons for tailwheel and upset training, Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopters, and an array of Cessna Citation jets including the CJ4, XLS+, and Encore. This range allows students to progress from first solo through instrument, commercial, multi-engine, helicopter, and even high-performance jet training without leaving Sweet's campus.
Sweet Aviation is a preferred training partner of Indiana Wesleyan University, providing flight operations for IWU's professional aviation program. The school's Midwest location in Fort Wayne gives students access to both controlled tower operations at KSMD and the vast cross-country navigation opportunities across the Indiana flatlands. Sweet Aviation's combination of a Cirrus specialty, jet training capability, helicopter instruction, and collegiate partnerships makes it one of the most multifaceted general aviation schools in the region.
