About

Epic Flight Academy's Tuscaloosa location opened in August 2025 as the network's ninth FAA Part 141 campus, situated at Tuscaloosa National Airport (KTCL) at 4800 Carter Drive. Epic Flight Academy has been training pilots from more than 110 countries since 1999 and became the largest FAA Part 141 flight school in the United States in 2025. The Tuscaloosa campus brings this internationally recognized program to west Alabama, providing local and regional students with access to Epic's structured, career-focused curriculum.

Training is conducted exclusively in Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpit avionics — the most widely used platform in collegiate and professional flight training. Students also have access to FRASCA RTD Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD) for instrument and procedural simulation. The school's career pathway extends from Private Pilot through Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, and ATP-CTP preparation, with Epic's established airline partnerships and pipeline to Republic Airways and other regional carriers.

The Tuscaloosa campus operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and can be reached locally at (205) 462-7822 or through Epic's national line at 1-866-FLY-EPIC. Epic graduates fly for more than 300 airlines worldwide, underscoring the network's record of professional pilot placement.
