Delaware State University's aviation program stands as one of the most distinctive flight training programs in the country, having trained aviation professionals since 1987 as an HBCU committed to diversifying the pilot workforce. Based at Delaware Airpark (KDVX), a ten-minute drive from the Dover campus, the program operates a 26-aircraft fleet and grants students an FAA-approved Part 141 pathway to earn their Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, CFI, and CFII certificates while earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
