Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College
About
The Emil Buehler Aviation Institute at Broward College, located on the college's South Campus adjacent to North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, Florida, is a comprehensive collegiate aviation training program offering everything from short-term credentials to a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences. In partnership with Phoenix East Aviation for flight training operations and with JetBlue's Gateway University program — making Broward College the first community college in the nation to join this elite pipeline — the institute provides students with a clear, structured pathway from first flight to airline career. Supported by a $1.9 million gift from the Jerry Taylor and Nancy Bryant Foundation, the institute trains students on state-of-the-art flight simulators and modern aircraft, offering degrees and certificates in professional pilot technology, aviation maintenance, avionics, air traffic control, and aviation administration.
