Bridgewater State University Aviation
About
This Bridgewater State University aviation program location is part of the university's nationally recognized Aviation Science department — the only institution in the Northeastern United States offering a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Science. Sharing the same FAA Part 141 certification and curriculum as the main campus program, this site contributes to BSU Aviation's multi-location training infrastructure centered at New Bedford Regional Airport (KEWB). Bridgewater State's aviation program has built a strong reputation in New England for producing well-trained, career-ready pilots through a combination of rigorous academics, professional flight instruction, and modern simulator technology including Redbird LD AATDs and a Redbird FMX full-motion simulator. Students in the Professional Pilot concentration earn FAA certificates and ratings from private pilot through commercial and multi-engine, with Part 141 efficiency enabling qualification for the Restricted ATP upon accumulating sufficient flight hours. The program's noncredit option through the Office of Continuing and Distance Education further extends BSU Aviation's reach to working professionals and career-changers throughout southeastern Massachusetts.
