AMERICAN HELICOPTER LLC
About
American Helicopter LLC has been training pilots at Fresno Chandler Executive Airport (KFCH) since 1992, making it one of the longer-running helicopter flight schools in California's Central Valley. Operating under the name AHS Flight Training, the school holds FAA Part 141 certification and is approved for VA GI Bill benefits. Its fleet consists of Robinson R22 Beta II and R44 Raven helicopters — the workhorses of civilian rotorcraft instruction — and the school covers the full progression from private pilot through instrument rating and commercial certificate, for both helicopter and airplane students.
AHS Flight Training is an SEVP-certified institution, meaning it sponsors M-1 visas and regularly trains international students alongside domestic enrollees. The school has also provided training for Fresno Police Department pilots, a nod to its standing in the local aviation community. Chandler Executive is a reliably uncongested general aviation field, which gives students good access to the pattern and the surrounding San Joaquin Valley airspace without the traffic pressures of a larger airport.
