AIRGO INC
About
Airgo Inc. has roots stretching back to 1968, when Les Erb merged Sparta Aviation with Airgo to create one of Illinois' most enduring flight training operations. Based at Centralia Municipal Airport in Centralia, Illinois, Airgo has evolved into a prominent international flight school specializing in training pilots from China and other countries under both FAA Part 141 and Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) authorization—one of very few U.S. schools to hold this dual approval.
A typical year sees Airgo graduate between 80 and 100 student pilots, the majority of whom are international students seeking FAA certifications that will be recognized in their home countries. Training is conducted in Piper aircraft, reflecting Airgo's longstanding relationship with Piper Aviation as an authorized dealer. Piper Cherokees and Seminoles cover single-engine primary and multi-engine advanced training, respectively. The school's fleet is sized to ensure every enrolled student has access to an aircraft while meeting maintenance requirements.
In addition to its Centralia headquarters, Airgo operates satellite locations in Mount Vernon, Phoenix, and Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois, extending its training network throughout the region. The school continues to operate Part 135 charter services alongside its training operations, maintaining a diverse aviation business model that has sustained it through decades of change in the general aviation industry.
