William "Bill" Brunton is a highly experienced FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with an aviation career spanning over five decades. A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Brunton began his professional journey as a flight instructor at the Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he rose to the position of Assistant Chief Flight Instructor. He later spent ten years with the Beech Aircraft Corporation, providing advanced worldwide training and assisting in international aircraft deliveries. His extensive background also includes serving as the Director of Standards for FlightSafety International, where he oversaw instructional content and instructor standardization.
With more than 11,000 flight hours logged earlier in his career, Brunton holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is uniquely qualified across the entire Beechcraft aircraft line, often conducting training in both English and Spanish. He was first appointed as a DPE in 1985, authorizing him to conduct checkrides for Private, Commercial, and Multi-Engine certifications. Brunton’s career is defined by a rigorous safety mindset developed through corporate flight operations and high-level instructional leadership.
