Vincent Remcho is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and flight instructor based at Corvallis Municipal Airport (KCVO) in Oregon, where he operates VR Aviate and serves under the Portland Flight Standards District Office. Remcho gives private, commercial, instrument, and CFI checkrides in single-engine airplanes. Beyond his work as an examiner, he is an approved flight instructor for the Oregon State Flying Club, holding an Airline Transport Pilot certificate along with CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings. His flying career began over 20 years ago following a "hundred-dollar hamburger" flight, and he has since flown a wide range of single- and multi-engine aircraft, including his own Beechcraft V35B Bonanza.
Alongside his aviation career, Remcho maintains a dual profession as an Eminent Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science at Oregon State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech and serves as the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program Director for Materials Science, where his academic research focuses on the design and optimization of microfluidic analytical instruments.
