Thomas Vearil

Thomas "TJ" Vearil is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based in Lebanon, Ohio, where he operates out of the Warren County Airport (I68). Associated with the FAA's Cincinnati Flight Standards District Office (GL05), Vearil is certified as a Private Pilot Examiner, Competency Examiner, and Flight Instructor Examiner specifically for rotorcraft. Because his FAA credentials and ratings are strictly limited to the helicopter category, he does not conduct airplane checkrides.

In 2007, Vearil co-founded Vertical Advantage Helicopters with business partner Matt Rupe. His commercial flight background includes operating Part 135 air charters, sightseeing tours, law enforcement support, aerial photography, and surveys. Additionally, Vearil has served as an Enstrom Factory Pilot Instructor and an Authorized Enstrom Insurance Program Check Pilot, conducting checkouts and primary flight instruction in Enstrom 280 and 280FX piston-powered helicopters.
