Brian W Trapp

Brian W. Trapp is a highly experienced FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and the proprietor of Trapp Aviation, Ltd., based at the Lebanon-Warren County Airport (I68) in Ohio. With over 40 years of flight instruction experience and more than two decades serving as a DPE for the Cincinnati District Office, Trapp has become a central figure in the regional aviation community. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is a multi-rated instructor specializing in a wide array of certifications, including Private, Commercial, and Multi-Engine ratings, as well as Initial CFI exams and Lighter-Than-Air (LTA) balloon evaluations.

Throughout his extensive career, Trapp has accumulated over 6,500 flight hours, with a significant portion dedicated to hot air balloons and airships. Before focusing fully on aviation, he spent over 15 years in the Information Technology field, a background that contributes to his structured and meticulous approach to pilot evaluations. As the co-owner of Gentle Breeze Hot Air Balloon Company and a certified repair station operator, he brings deep technical knowledge to his role.
