Thomas Coleman Inglima is a distinguished aviation veteran and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) with a career spanning over six decades. Based in Pembroke Pines, Florida, his journey in flight instruction began in 1964, eventually leading him to serve as a contract Instructor Pilot for the U.S. Army’s fixed-wing fleet from 1966 to 1970. Before becoming a DPE in 2007, Inglima built an extensive resume within the Federal Aviation Administration, serving as an Air Traffic Control Specialist at Miami Center and later spending over 30 years as a General Aviation Operations Inspector and supervisor.
Inglima holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a master flight instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI) with extensive time in single and multi-engine aircraft. While he conducts a wide range of evaluations, including Private, Commercial, and Instrument ratings, he is particularly specialized in initial flight instructor and add-on certifications. His professional background in FAA safety investigations and regulatory oversight has shaped a checkride philosophy centered on practical risk management and technical precision. Today, he remains a pillar of the South Florida aviation community, dedicated to mentoring the next generation of safe, professional aviators.
