Ron Gustafson administers private, commercial, instrument, ATP, and flight instructor practical tests in helicopters under the jurisdiction of the Portland Flight Standards District Office. Based in McMinnville, Oregon, he operates in association with Jerry Trimble Helicopters and has been conducting helicopter checkrides in the region since at least 2009.
He is a recipient of the FAA's Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which recognizes pilots who have maintained safe, accident-free flight operations for 50 or more consecutive years. His background includes serving as the Chief Pilot for Helicopter Transport Services in Aurora and Corvallis, and he has over three decades of experience in helicopter flight training. He has regularly served as an expert judge for the annual Touchdown Autorotation Contest in McMinnville and participated in safety demonstrations for HeliTrak's Collective Pull-Down system on Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters.
