Martin Andrew "Marty" Haski is a distinguished aviation veteran and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based in New Castle, Pennsylvania. His journey in flight began at age 13 in gliders alongside his father, eventually leading to his solo in a powered aircraft in 1967. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Haski has accumulated over 19,500 total flight hours, including more than 13,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command. As the long-time owner of Haski Aviation at New Castle Municipal Airport (KUCP), he has held numerous leadership roles, including Chief Flight Instructor for Part 141 operations and Director of Operations for Part 135 charter services.
With over 38 years of experience as a DPE, Haski has conducted more than 6,500 FAA checkrides, establishing himself as a cornerstone of pilot certification in the Eastern Region. His expertise covers private, commercial, and multi-engine ratings, supported by his background as a flight instructor with over 5,500 hours of dual instruction provided. Haski’s commitment to safety is underscored by his 2024 receipt of the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which recognizes 50 years of accident-free flight operations. A former FAA Counselor of the Year, his legacy is defined by technical proficiency and a lifelong dedication to mentoring safe, professional aviators.
