John Ginley is a highly active FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and corporate pilot based in Dublin, Ohio. His aviation journey began at age seven following an inspiring helicopter ride, eventually leading him to earn his private pilot license at Medina Municipal Airport while still in high school. He pursued formal education at The Ohio State University, graduating with an aviation degree while completing his advanced ratings. With over a decade of professional experience and more than 5,000 flight hours, Ginley has transitioned from a dedicated flight instructor to a respected examiner and corporate pilot, currently operating a Cessna Citation XLS+.
Ginley holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is certified as a CFI, CFII, and MEI, with specialized type ratings in the Learjet and Citation 560XL. His DPE authorizations are extensive, covering Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine exams, as well as ATP and Flight Instructor certifications. Known for a safety-centric and fair evaluation style, he maintains a clean safety record and serves as an advisory coach for the Ohio State University Flight Team. His commitment to the local aviation community is further evidenced by his board membership with the OSU Aviation Alumni Society and active participation in the Ohio Regional Business Aviation Association.
