Dwayne Alan Hoss is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner based in Estherville and Spencer, Iowa, who serves as the Chief Flight Instructor and FAA Coordinator for Iowa Lakes Community College. He assumed these leadership roles in July 2025, following his tenure as the college's Assistant Chief Flight Instructor which began in August 2020. Hoss is an alumnus of the college, having earned his Associate in Applied Science degree in Aviation & Airport Management there. His professional aviation background spans roles as an airline pilot, flight instructor since 1997, and manager of flight schools, including a role managing a Delta Connection Academy campus in Pembroke Pines, Florida, around 2013. Hoss holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, alongside Commercial, Instrument, and CFI credentials with ratings in single-engine and multi-engine land airplanes.
