About Brian Petschauer

Brian Petschauer is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based in Burbank, California, who conducts helicopter practical tests across the Greater Los Angeles and Southern California regions. He is a rotorcraft-only examiner and does not conduct airplane checkrides. With over 22 years of aviation experience since starting his flight training in 2004, Petschauer has accumulated more than 6,500 flight hours in helicopters. As an examiner, Petschauer is authorized to conduct practical tests at airports including Burbank, Van Nuys, Long Beach, El Monte, Hawthorne, and Chino in various aircraft, including Guimbal Cabri G2, Robinson R22/R44/R66, Bell B206/B206L/B429, Airbus AS350/AS355/EC130/EC135, Agusta A109, Sikorsky S-76B/C, and MD Helicopters MD-500 series.
