Brian Petschauer

Brian Petschauer is a helicopter Designated Pilot Examiner based at Atlantic Aviation (KBUR) in Burbank, California, who conducts helicopter practical tests for Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) applicants across Southern California. He began his helicopter flight training in the Los Angeles area, completing his advanced instrument, commercial, CFI, and CFII helicopter ratings at Universal Air Academy at El Monte Airport. Over his career, he has accumulated more than 6,500 helicopter flight hours, holds an ATP helicopter certificate and a CFII rating, and has operated a wide range of airframes from Robinson, Bell, Airbus, Agusta, and Sikorsky.

Petschauer's professional background includes serving as Chief Pilot for Helinet Aviation, where he spent nine years flying turbine helicopters for electronic news gathering, VIP charter, organ transport, and film production. He also served as Chief Pilot for Orbic Air, currently flies for a Southern California air ambulance operator, and instructs for EuroSafety International with a focus on Airbus EC130 and AS350 type-specific training. Through his brands SoCal Checkride and AVIATIONLY LLC, he provides flight training, practical test preparation, and aviation consulting services.
