STEPHEN F. AUSTIN STATE UNIVERSITY

Stephen F. Austin State University launched its Aviation Sciences program in 2021 and has grown rapidly to over 160 students. The program partners with HCH Aviation, an SFA alumni-owned flight school, for flight training at A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport in Nacogdoches. SFA gained national recognition in 2024 when its students became the first in the United States to fly the Tecnam P-Mentor two-seat trainer, one of the most advanced training aircraft available. The four-year BS program leads to private, instrument, commercial, multi-engine, and CFI certificates.
