About

The Mauna Loa Helicopters Honolulu campus brings the school's FAA Part 141 certified helicopter and fixed-wing training program to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (PHNL) on the island of Oahu. As a satellite of the main Kailua-Kona campus founded in 1992 on the Big Island, the Honolulu location gives students on Oahu access to the full Mauna Loa curriculum without relocating to the Big Island.

Students at the Honolulu campus train on the same Robinson helicopter fleet used at the main campus—R22 Beta IIs for primary instruction, R44 Raven IIs for intermediate training, and R66 turbines for advanced rotorcraft operations. The Big Island's exceptional year-round weather and Oahu's diverse airspace environment together make the Mauna Loa network an ideal training ecosystem for helicopter pilots at all levels.

Mauna Loa Helicopters' FAA Part 141 approval and ACCSC accreditation apply across all campus locations, and the school maintains its VA approval for GI Bill benefits, making it accessible to military veterans pursuing aviation careers. The Honolulu satellite allows students to benefit from the full organizational resources of one of Hawaii's most established flight training institutions while training in one of the world's most recognizable island environments.
