About

Gulf Coast Aviation has established itself as the leading professional flight training organization in the Louisiana-Mississippi region, operating its flagship campus at New Orleans Lakefront Airport (KNEW) alongside satellite locations in Baton Rouge, Alexandria, and Houma. As an FAA Part 141 certificated school, Gulf Coast achieves an average student completion rate 20 fewer hours than the national average — a measure of instructional efficiency and curriculum quality. The school's fleet progresses from Cessna 172 Skyhawks for primary training through a Piper Saratoga for complex single-engine instruction and a Beechcraft Baron for multi-engine certification. Students also have access to a fully FAA-certified flight simulator approved for IPCs and knowledge test preparation. Gulf Coast has built meaningful partnerships that amplify its value to students: a Liberty University program allows students to earn a four-year accredited aviation degree while training at Gulf Coast, and VA benefit approval makes training accessible to veterans and active-duty military personnel through the GI Bill. The New Orleans Lakefront campus is located in one of the most scenically unique aviation training environments in the South, with Lake Pontchartrain approaches and the city skyline as a constant backdrop.
