North Iowa Air Service
About
North Iowa Air Service operates from Mason City Municipal Airport (KMCW) in Mason City, Iowa, as a satellite location of Central Iowa Air Service. Together, they form one of Iowa's most cohesive regional aviation training networks, with the same FAA Part 141 certification and curriculum shared between the Ames and Mason City campuses.
The Mason City location gives north Iowa students convenient access to quality flight training without the need to commute to Ames or other larger cities. Piper PA-28 Cherokee aircraft form the backbone of the training fleet, providing a stable, reliable platform for students working toward Private Pilot through Commercial certificates. Instruction is available under both Part 141 and Part 61, giving students flexibility in their training path.
North Iowa Air Service benefits from the management experience and operational standards of the Central Iowa Air Service organization, ensuring consistency in safety culture, instructor quality, and curriculum delivery. The school accepts GI Bill benefits for qualifying veterans and has partnered with local educational institutions to make flight training accessible to a broad range of students in northern Iowa.
