Central Washington University - Aviation
About
Central Washington University's Department of Aviation, established in 1975 in Ellensburg, Washington, holds the distinction of being the only fully accredited public university aviation program in the Pacific Northwest. The Part 141 program operates at Bowers Field (KELN) through a contract operator, flying a fleet of 19 aircraft including Piper Archers, Piper Arrows for complex training, and Piper Seminoles for multi-engine instruction — all equipped with advanced avionics. With direct-hire agreements with Horizon Air, American Eagle, and Pinnacle Airlines, and R-ATP eligibility at 1,000 hours, CWU offers a compelling pipeline to regional airline careers. The program uses six state-of-the-art flight simulators to complement in-aircraft training.
