Aviation Adventures was founded in 1989 by Bob Hepp with a single Cessna 172 and one instructor. Today, it is the largest flight school in the Washington DC Capital Region, operating from five airports: Manassas Regional (KHEF), Leesburg Executive (KJYO), Warrenton-Fauquier (KHWY), Stafford Regional (KRMN), and Winchester Regional (KOKV). Offering both Part 141 and Part 61 programs, Aviation Adventures is known for its broad fleet spanning glass cockpit and steam gauge aircraft, tailwheel, complex, multi-engine, and high-performance options, with instructors averaging more ratings and hours than at any competing Virginia school.
