ZACHARY TAYLOR

Zachary "Zack" Taylor is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner based out of SheltAir TPA at Tampa International Airport, where he administers Private, Commercial, Instrument, ATP, and CFI practical tests in helicopters. He has been a certified helicopter flight instructor (CFI/CFII) since 2008 and has served as a DPE with the Tampa Flight Standards District Office since 2014. Taylor's professional flying career includes piloting Bell Helicopters in the Gulf of Mexico for offshore oil platforms, flying Eurocopter AS350 turbine helicopters for the AirLife emergency medical services program in Florida and Georgia, and conducting commercial tours and instruction. Beyond his examiner services, Taylor and his wife Laura co-own Tampa Bay Aviation, which they expanded from a single-aircraft operation at Clearwater Airpark in 2012 to multiple locations including Albert Whitted Airport and Tampa Executive Airport. He also co-owns its sister company, Skyway Aviation, which provides private aircraft charters, maintenance, and corporate aircraft management.
