Zachary Ryan Armstrong is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and the founder of Allegiance Aviation, based in Seguin, Texas. With over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Armstrong has cultivated a diverse background that spans from corporate management to grassroots flight instruction. He has held significant FAR 119 management positions and was instrumental in building Part 135 air carrier certificates from the ground up, including conducting complex proving and validation flights for international operations. His additional role as a Mission Pilot for the Commemorative Air Force highlights his dedication to maintaining elite standards of airmanship and preserving aviation history.
Armstrong’s instructional credentials are extensive, featuring qualifications in high-altitude, high-performance, and turbine transition training. He is notably recognized as a Platinum-level M-Class Standardized Instructor Pilot (MSIP), specializing in the Piper M-Class fleet, including the JetPROP and Meridian/M500 variants. Beyond his civilian aviation career, Armstrong spent two decades in tactical law enforcement, a background that heavily informs his safety-first mindset and meticulous approach to pilot evaluations. Outside of the cockpit, he manages his family’s 120-year-old farm in Seguin, where he balances his passion for radial engines and vintage aircraft with a commitment to his family and community.
