Steven Lee Buchenroth is a veteran FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and the President of Midwest Corporate Air, based at Bellefontaine Regional Airport (KEDJ) in Ohio. His aviation career began in 1981 as one of the school’s first flight students, eventually leading him to purchase and expand the company in 2002. Over more than forty years in the industry, Buchenroth has transitioned a local operation into a nationally recognized center for accelerated flight training. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is also a rated Private Pilot in rotorcraft helicopters, reflecting a broad mastery of diverse aircraft categories.
His professional background is distinguished by thousands of flight hours and an extensive list of credentials, including Gold Seal instructor ratings (CFI, CFII, MEI, CFI-G, and ASES-CFI). Buchenroth holds multiple jet type ratings for aircraft such as the Gulfstream IV, Citation, and Canadair Regional Jet. As a DPE, he is highly respected for his thorough evaluation process and commitment to safety-driven judgment. In addition to examining, he manages the Bellefontaine FBO, where his leadership emphasizes professional integrity and a hands-on approach to mentoring the next generation of pilots.
