Soeren Sauer, operating through Sauer Aviation, LLC, is based at Miami Executive Airport (KTMB) under the South Florida FSDO, while maintaining a nationwide checkride service that frequently brings him to Portland, Oregon, and San Diego, California. During the 2024 fire season, Sauer served as a contracted wildland fire helicopter pilot on the Willamette Complex South fires in Oregon, where he performed tactical operations including bucket drops, supply transport, and medical evacuations. Committed to aviation safety, he authored the Vertical Aviation Safety Team (VAST) guide, 'Conducting a Helicopter Flight Review,' which assists flight instructors with ground and flight evaluations under 14 CFR 61.56. Sauer conducts private pilot and flight instructor checkrides in helicopters.
