Robert Sawyer

Robert Sawyer is a distinguished aviation professional and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based in the Nashville, Tennessee region. With a career spanning over 40 years, Sawyer has established himself as a cornerstone of the Middle Tennessee flight training community. Before becoming an examiner, he enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a commercial airline pilot for a major legacy carrier, where he accumulated over 20,000 flight hours. His background in Part 121 operations provides him with a deep understanding of crew resource management and high-altitude flight safety, which he now applies to his work in general aviation.

Sawyer holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a multi-engine rated flight instructor (MEI). As a DPE, he is authorized to conduct practical tests for Private, Commercial, and Instrument ratings, as well as Multi-Engine certificates.
