Robert Armindo Miranda, known professionally as Bob Miranda, is a distinguished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) with over 30 years of aviation experience. Based in Hillsborough, New Jersey, he is a frequent presence at Somerset Airport (1N7) and across the New York metropolitan region. Miranda’s academic foundation began with a B.S. in Meteorology from Rutgers University, providing him with a technical depth in weather analysis that he frequently integrates into his practical examinations and safety seminars.
With over 17,000 flight hours, Miranda possesses an extensive operational background spanning Part 91, 135, and 121 environments. His career includes over 22 years as a Part 121 airline pilot and leadership roles as a Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for corporate flight departments. Holding an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and various instructor ratings, his expertise covers a vast range of airframes, from light piston singles to the Boeing 767.
