Raymond Carmine Altieri is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and Specialty Aircraft Examiner based in Stratford, Connecticut, who operates as Sikorsky Aircraft. He is a helicopter-only examiner, meaning his services are limited to rotorcraft and he does not conduct airplane checkrides. His FAA certifications on record include private, commercial, instrument, flight instructor (CFI), and airline transport pilot (ATP) certificates. In his DPE capacity, Altieri primarily provides flight reviews and checkrides for Sikorsky test pilots and S-76 operations.
Altieri is a high-time helicopter pilot with thousands of hours of flight experience, particularly in the Sikorsky S-76 (including S-76B, S-76C+, and S-76D), Sikorsky S-92, and Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk (S-70). Professionally, he serves as the Vice President of Lift Operations at Flexjet Inc., where he oversees the company's Vertical Lift division. His aviation career includes co-founding Associated Aircraft Group (AAG) in Danbury, Connecticut, in 1989, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President. Following Sikorsky Aircraft's acquisition of AAG in 1999, he continued in his executive role. In 2015, Altieri flew the official demonstration flights for the newly certified Sikorsky S-76D at Heli-Expo, and he transitioned to his current role at Flexjet after AAG was acquired by OneSky Flight in 2021.
