Mark Robey is a distinguished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based at Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) in Blountville, Tennessee, representing the Nashville FSDO. His aviation journey began in 2005, and he has since amassed a versatile professional background that informs his role as an examiner. Robey spent six years as a flight instructor in Middle Tennessee, logging over 2,100 hours of dual instruction before transitioning to international operations. Notably, he served as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan from 2012 to 2017, flying King Air 200 and 350 aircraft in direct support of military combat teams during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Following his time overseas, Robey flew the Bombardier Challenger 350 in Part 135 charter operations and currently serves as a crew member on the McDonnell-Douglas MD-11F for FedEx Express. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a multi-rated instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI).
