Mark Andrew Rebholz is a highly distinguished aviator and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) based out of Eagle Roost Airpark in Aguila, Arizona. With an extensive career spanning several decades and more than 25,000 total flight hours, Rebholz is a retired United Airlines Captain who spent years commanding the Boeing 747 on international routes. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a seasoned Flight Instructor (CFI/II/MEI), recognized for his technical precision and professional dedication. His diverse background also includes serving as a fire suppression pilot and a globally sought-after C-130 check pilot.
Beyond his commercial career, Rebholz is internationally renowned for his leadership in historical aviation, specifically for commanding faithful recreations of landmark flights. In 2005, he partnered with aviator Steve Fossett to pilot a Vickers Vimy reproduction across the Atlantic, retracing the 1919 Alcock and Brown route. More recently, he spearheaded the "World Flight 2024" project, piloting a Douglas World Cruiser replica to honor the centennial of the first aerial circumnavigation. These complex missions underscore a safety-centric mindset rooted in rigorous risk management. As a DPE, he now applies this depth of experience to evaluate candidates from the Private Pilot to ATP levels, maintaining the highest standards of FAA certification.
