Marci Haengel serves pilot candidates in Van Buren Township, Canton, and Ann Arbor under the Belleville Flight Standards District Office. In addition to her work as an examiner, Haengel is a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic holding an Inspection Authorization (IA). Her instructional background includes roles as Chief Flight Instructor at multiple flight schools, a team membership at Airmark Aviation, and selection as the 2025 Belleville FSDO District Honoree for Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) of the Year.
Haengel completed a degree in Communications and initially studied aviation at Washtenaw Community College before preparing to transfer to Eastern Michigan University. She has received multiple professional honors, including the 2022 NBAA Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship, the 2022 NGPA Envoy Aircraft Mechanic Training Scholarship, and the 2023 Women in Aviation International Pratt & Whitney Engine Maintenance Training Scholarship. Outside of aviation, she is an advocate for animal rights. Haengel conducts Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Flight Instructor (CFI) practical tests in single-engine land airplanes.
