Kurt Gross is a highly seasoned aviation professional and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) with more than 13,000 hours of flight experience. Based at Alexander Field (KISW) in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Gross has spent decades shaping the local aviation landscape as the owner and manager of Wings Air Charter LLC. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate along with CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings, and is authorized to conduct practical exams for a wide range of certifications, including Sport, Private, Commercial, Instrument, Multi-Engine, and Seaplane ratings.
His career is marked by a deep commitment to flight training excellence and operational safety, reflected in his leadership of the region’s only Cessna Pilot Center. Beyond his role as an examiner, Gross has an extensive background in Part 135 charter operations and airport management, having served as the long-term manager of the South Wood County Airport.
