JON LEGER

Jon Leger, often known as J.P., began his aviation career after serving a four-year stint in the United States Navy. He started his civilian flight training around 2000 at SKY Helicopters in Garland, Texas, where he later worked as an instrument Certified Flight Instructor. Leger expanded his professional experience by flying commercial helicopters offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and operating as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) helicopter pilot in North Texas. He returned to SKY Helicopters as the FAA Part 135 Chief Pilot and Director of Training by 2010.

In 2007, Leger joined the non-profit medical transport organization CareFlite, later becoming their Director of Flight Operations around 2015. Based in Weatherford, Texas, he has served as an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner since June 2010, administering Private, Commercial, Instrument, ATP, and Flight Instructor practical tests in helicopters. His flight background includes extensive time in the Robinson R44 Newscopter, Bell 206, Bell 407, and Bell 412 platforms.
