Jason Blair

Jason Blair is a highly accomplished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and aviation consultant based in Allegan, Michigan. With a career spanning over 30 years, Blair has become a prominent voice in the flight training community, previously serving as the Executive Director of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) and representing the industry on several FAA and TSA advisory committees. His diverse background includes academic degrees from Western Michigan University and experience as an airport manager, providing him with a unique perspective on aviation policy, business, and safety management.

An active pilot and instructor for more than two decades, Blair has logged over 6,000 total flight hours, including 3,500 hours of dual instruction and over 3,500 hours evaluating applicants as a DPE. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a five-time NAFI Master Flight Instructor with Gold Seal CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings. Blair maintains an impeccable safety record and is a prolific author for aviation publications, where he focuses on improving pilot proficiency and checkride success.
