Jared "Pat" Curtis is a highly accomplished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and Certified Flight Instructor (CFII) based at Hampton Airfield (2B2) in North Hampton, New Hampshire. His aviation journey began in childhood and evolved into a distinguished 20-year career as a United States Air Force (USAF) instructor pilot, where he operated the T-38, C-12, and C-130. Following his military service, Curtis spent over 32 years in commercial aviation, retiring from American Airlines in 2017 after a professional tenure that spanned commuter airlines, night freight operations, and major carriers.
Since 2019, Curtis has served as a DPE, specializing in conducting practical tests for a wide range of pilot certifications. His diverse professional background also includes experience in journalism and radio, having worked as a flying traffic reporter for a Boston station earlier in his career. Beyond evaluations, he remains active in the cockpit by providing instruction and flying charter missions in the King Air out of Pease.
