James Carroll Buehler

James Carroll "JC" Buehler is a distinguished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and aviation attorney based in Carmel, Indiana. With over 19,000 logged flight hours and more than four decades of experience, he is a cornerstone of the Central Indiana aviation community. Buehler holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with numerous type ratings, including the Boeing 727, 737, 757, and 767, as well as multiple Cessna Citation models. His extensive credentials also include Flight Instructor ratings for single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument instruction (CFI, CFII, and MEI).

His professional background is uniquely dual-faceted; from 1983 to 2008, he served as a pilot, check airman, and corporate counsel for ATA Airlines. Currently, he is the principal of a law firm specializing in aviation law and serves as an adjunct professor at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law.
