About Forrest Crawford

Forrest Crawford grew up in rural Indiana, where watching Air Evac Lifeteam aircraft overhead first inspired him to fly. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Crawford deployed twice with the AH-1W Cobra attack helicopter. Professionally, he works as a helicopter air ambulance pilot for Air Evac Lifeteam, previously serving as the Base Pilot Supervisor for Base 156 in Madison County, Illinois, and participating in joint emergency training. His academic background includes teaching helicopter flight courses as a part-time faculty member at Southwestern Illinois College. Crawford is based in Sauget, Illinois, at the St. Louis Downtown Airport, and Fairview Heights, Illinois, operating through Ideal Aviation. He also operates out of Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma, traveling nationwide to support flight schools. Crawford is a helicopter-only examiner and does not conduct airplane checkrides. He holds authority to conduct practical tests for Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Flight Instructor certificates. His specific airframe familiarity includes the Robinson R22, R44, and R66, the Bell 206 and 407, and the Airbus EC130. Candidates can contact him at [email protected] or (765) 401-0777.
