Erick Paradizo Rivera is a highly accomplished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and the Director of Safety for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), based in Emmett, Idaho. Originally from Puerto Rico, Rivera’s aviation journey began under the mentorship of his grandfather, a private pilot. He later earned an aviation management degree and completed his initial pilot training in Puerto Rico before moving to Nashville, Tennessee. There, he spent four years as a flight instructor at Nashville International Airport, refining his skills and building the flight time necessary to achieve his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and Gold Seal CFI status.
Now serving the Boise Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), Rivera is authorized to conduct practical tests for Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine ratings. His dual role as an instructor pilot and MAF’s Director of Safety underscores his rigorous commitment to operational excellence and risk management. As a Lead FAASTeam Representative and a bilingual instructor, he leverages his extensive background in missionary aviation to train and evaluate pilots heading to remote corners of the globe. His expertise is characterized by a safety-first philosophy, ensuring that candidates are not only technically proficient but also possess the sound judgment required for complex flight environments.
