David Hynes operates Hampton Roads Helicopters (HRH) at the Hampton Roads Executive Airport (KPVG) in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he conducts private, commercial, instrument, and flight instructor practical tests in helicopters. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Hynes served as a military pilot until transitioning to the private sector in 2005. His background in helicopter aviation dates back to the 1970s and 1980s, when he grew up working around Brantly-Hynes Helicopters alongside his father, Dr. Michael J. Hynes, a helicopter manufacturer and long-time examiner. Today, Hynes manages daily charter operations and aircraft sales at his FAA Part 141 flight school, which operates as a Robinson Helicopter Service Center specializing in the R22, R44, and R66 platforms.
